PART OF BAMA GRUPPEN AS

BAMA is a proud part of BAMA Gruppen AS, the Nordic region’s leading name in fruit and vegetables. Founded in Norway in 1886 by Christian Matthiesen, in 1905 the company became the first to import bananas to Scandinavia. Today BAMA Gruppen AS is a global organisation for the import and wholesale distribution of fruit, vegetables, processed fresh products and flowers. The Group takes a strong stand for ethical trade, climate and environmental issues. It supports the improvement and development of working conditions in those countries in which it has a presence, and it works to inspire healthy lifestyles through increased physical activity and an increase in the consumption of healthy fruit and vegetables. OUR PRODUCTION PLANTS

Every stage of the entire production processes in our salad facilities is closely monitored to make sure we meet the stringent criteria we have laid down for quality control, traceability and food safety. Some 64 million packs of salad are shipped from our production facilities every year. The raw ingredients are carefully checked on arrival, and an uninterrupted cooling chain and optimised handling procedures ensure that the product remains fresh throughout the process. Our range of convenience and plant-based foods is produced in Lindesberg, some 40 kilometres north of Örebro. We are especially proud of this facility, which is the only one in Sweden for the production of plant-based foods.

HELSINGBORG, SWEDEN

Our Helsingborg facility is one of the most modern and most efficient in all of Europe for the production of ready-cut salads. It is certified in accordance with BRC, a global standard for food safety, and also has certification for the production of both KRAV-labelled and EU eco-labelled food products. The facility already has a very low impact on the surrounding environment, and we are working actively to further reduce our energy and water consumption.

ESPOO, FINLAND

Our Finnish facility for ready-cut salads is located on the outskirts of Helsinki. This facility is certified in accordance with FSSC 22000, a comprehensive programme of fully documented processes and routines for food safety management systems.

LINDESBERG, SWEDEN

The production facility in Lindesberg was built in 2017 and comprises three separate units. One is dedicated exclusively to the production of vegan proteins and ready meals, a second puts together our “on-the-go” products, while the third produces mixes and sauces. The Lindesberg facility is also FSSC 22000 certified.
